In order to study the analgesic effect on the pain induced by acetic acid in isotonic saline solution in mice, the aqua-acupuncture with Cervus elaphus extract solution was inserted into the corresponding loci of the Geo-Gweol (CV_(14)), Jung-Wan (CV_(12)), Jon-Sam-Ri (S_(36)) and a Blank Locus (non-acupuncture locus at the root of the tail) in mice.
Analgesic effect of aqua-acupuncture was studied by counting the numbers of writhing syndrome.
The following results have been obtained.
1. The optimal concentration of Cervus elaphus extract solution to obtain the most significant analgesic effect was 1.00%.
2. Aqua-acupuncture with 1.00% Cervus elaphus extract solution after injection with 0.7% acetic acid in isotonic saline sloution abtained more significant analgesic effect than aqua-acupuncture with 1.00% Cervus elaphus extract solution before injection with 0.7% acetic acid in isotonic saline solution.
3. The most remarkable writhing syndrome were noticed from 10 to 20 minutes after injection with acetic acid in isotonic saline solution and the most significant effect of aqua-acupuncture with Cervus elaphus extract solution was observed at this duration.
4. The aqua-acupuncture at the loci of Geo-Gweol (CV_(14)), Jung-Wan (CV_(12)), Jog-Sam-Ri(S_(36)) and Blank Locus (BL) showed the analgesic effect in that order and the locus of Geo-Gweol (CV_(14)) was most effective, while the Blank Locus (BL) did not show any significance.
According to the above results, it is concluded that aqua-acupunture with 1.00% Cervus elaphus extract solution at the loci of Geo-Gweol (CV_(14)), Jung-Wan (CV_(12)) and Jog-Sam-Ri (S_(36)) showed the significant analgesic effect on the pain in mouse.
